For libraries and archives

A translation station near the stacks.

A shared iPad or tablet can help patrons scan a source page, translate it, review footnotes, export study text, and optionally submit a text-only contribution for private review.

Recommended patron flow

  1. Start a new temporary project.
  2. Capture or import pages from the sefer.
  3. Crop, rotate, and translate.
  4. Review source links and export/share the result.
  5. Clear local work before leaving the station.

Station setup

  • Use a managed, charging-mounted device with reliable Wi-Fi.
  • Keep provider keys managed by staff, not patrons.
  • Post a clear content-rights and privacy notice.
  • Run periodic cleanup, backups, updates, and Global Library moderation.

Privacy guidance

Patrons should not enter personal provider API keys or leave private projects on a shared device. A future library-station mode should add idle timeout, one-tap local reset, guided export/share, and staff-managed settings.
